Aesthetic Brazilian Cryo Laser Cryo Sclerotherapy (Modified CLaCS)
Aesthetic Brazilian Cryo Laser Cryo Sclerotherapy for Spider Veins and Prominent Veins of the Leg Veins Centers of Excellence now offers the CLaCS procedure, which stands for Cryo Laser Cryo Sclerotherapy. It represents an innovative approach to addressing spider veins and noticeable leg veins. This technique was pioneered in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and we combine it with an endovenous laser and microphlebectomies for optimal outcomes. This has proven to be highly successful in effectively eliminating the appearance of unsightly and awkward spider veins and prominent leg veins. The results are beautiful and healthy-looking legs.
The modified CLaCS procedure combines the technologies of endovenous and transdermal laser, minimally invasive interventions, sclerotherapy, augmented reality, and skin cooling for anesthesia.
Microphlebectomy is the technique of removing the largest and most superficial varicose veins through a small needle hole. This minimally invasive intervention is necessary for optimal results.
The augmented reality is provided by the VeinViewer, a device that images veins up to 1.0 centimeter beneath the skin using infrared sensing. The device projects this real-time image back onto the skin, allowing the physician to observe feeder veins that would otherwise remain invisible to the naked eye.
The feeder veins are then treated with a transdermal laser. Because of the wavelength of the laser, the energy is absorbed more by blood than skin. This allows selective treatment of the vein without damage to the skin. Concurrently, these veins are treated with a sclerosant agent that closes them permanently.
Following this the overlying spider veins of the skin are also treated with laser and injected. The whole procedure is done using a cryo unit that produces a continuous flow of cold air to the sites of application of the transdermal laser and sclerotherapy injections. The skin cooling serves to provide surface numbness during the procedure.
The combination of all these techniques is true precision medicine. There is no downtime. The results using the modified CLaCS procedure are far superior to conventional sclerotherapy for feeder veins and spider veins.
