HEAD AND NECK
Indications:
- CVA/TIA
- Asymptomatic carotid bruit
- High-risk pre-op screening
- Neck lesions, hx of carotid pathology and fibromuscular dysplasia
Indications:
- New-onset localized headache
- Temporal tenderness or decreased temporal artery pulse
- Suspicion for temporal (giant cell) arteritis
- Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate >50mm/h
TRUNK
Indications:
- Pulsatile abdominal mass or bruit
- Male >65 yo with hx of smoking (screening)
- Hx of HTN with family hx of abdominal aortic aneurysm and age >50 years
- Surveillance of vascular intervention
- Coarctation of aorta
Indications:
- Hypertension (new onset, uncontrolled, or worsening)
- Unexplained renal failure
- Fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD)
- Renal artery surveillance of vascular intervention
Indications:
- New-onset abdominal pain and/or postprandial pain
- Significant weight loss (fear of food)
- Abdominal bruit
- Ischemic colitis
- Surveillance of surgical revascularization
Indications :
- Chronic pelvic pain in a female for >6m
- Lumbar pain or pelvic heaviness
- Dyspareunia or post-coital tenderness
- Dysmenorrhea
- Urinary frequency
- Unexplained hematuria
- Vulvar, perineal, gluteal or lower limb varices
- Hemorrhoids
UPPER LIMBS
Indications:
- Claudication (arm pain with exertion)
- Numbness or paresthesia
- Cold/cyanosis of hands or digits
- Unequal brachial blood pressures
Indications:
- Mapping for possible future AV fistula in the setting of chronic renal failure
- Dialysis fistula failure (no thrill, unsuccessful dialysis)
- Pain/swelling at the site of AV fistula
- Aneurysm
Indications:
- Swelling or pain of arm, neck, face, or chest
- Indwelling catheters or hx of their use
- Documented DVT or superficial phlebitis
LOWER LIMBS
Indications:
- Abnormal physiologic test (ABI)
- Loss of previously palpable pulses
- Intermittent claudication or rest pain
Delay in ischemic ulcer healing
Indications:
- Swelling
- Pain/tenderness
- Palpable cord with or without tenderness
- CVA with documented foramen ovale
- Positive D-dimer test
- Documentation of a source of pulmonary embolism
Indications:
- Pain, aching, and heaviness of lower extremities
- Throbbing or neuropathy-like symptoms
- Leg swelling
- Varicosities
- Venous stasis dermatitis
- Prior hx of DVT
- Leg ulcers
